Name:
Marietta Distinguishing
Marks: Appearance: Clearly a spirit of a long-gone age, Marietta wears a hoop-skirted dress in a soft dove gray color. The bodice is off the shoulder and fitted, best described as resembling a Civil War Confederate dress uniform with its double row of brass buttons. A mustard-yellow ruffle accents the collar and bottom of the bodice, and bands of the same color appear on each layer of her voluminous multi-tiered skirts. Four larger buttons bearing the CSA insignia are at her waist and from them hang four wide silver-white ribbons which trail to the ground. Purplish will-o-wisps grace the ends of these ribbons, hovering just above the ground in the thin, glowing mist that heralds Marietta's arrival. On her hands are dove-gray uniform gloves, around her neck a silver ribbon choker, and a large, fragrant magnolia blossom is tucked into her silver hair behind her right ear. Her skin is pale and her lavender eyes are wide and curiously blank, though often hidden demurely behind the folding fan she carries. She glides rather than walking and seems to have no visible feet. Quirks: About: There is a rumor, the stuff of legends and campfire tales, that if one stares into the crack in a Shedinja's back, they'll lose their soul. Every now and then some daring individuals always want to test the old tales. Every now and then...the old tales are proven to be quite accurate. That spirit is Marietta, the wandering Ghost-type Pokemon trainer...who happens to be a ghost herself, the victim of an illicit peek into the back of a Shedinja all those years ago. She's still looking for her soul, and will battle any trainer or other traveller who happens to cross her path in her searching. Those who defeat her and her team of four kindred spirits receive the elusive Magnolia Badge; more of a novelty than a serious reward, the badge nonetheless marks its bearer as one who's tangled with the Other Side and won. Unpredictable at best, when Marietta does reveal herself in preparation for a fight it's as a patch of shining mist roving through forested areas. Rosy will-o-wisps are usually the first sign this is more than a case of swamp gas and hallucination - the menacing Lunatone that appears next would be the second. Marietta doesn't carry Pokeballs. Instead, her team seem to appear from the attendant will-o-wisps and will usually use the attack of the same name as their opening move. When defeated, they vanish in puffs of flame that give off no heat. Marietta herself will also fade away when the battle is over, and if her opponent has been victorious will leave behind a Magnolia Badge. Few people ever encounter her twice.
