Alina |
Name:
Alina Gast Distinguishing
Marks: Appearance: Average height, average weight. Plain brown hair and brown eyes. A conservative and understated wardrobe, a quiet manner - these aren't things that make a person noticeable. Most of her clothing is in shades of navy, gray or brown, is kept neat and trim and almost never shows unnecessary skin. Her favored style is mainly business-casual and usually runs to skirts, blouses and blazers. This has the sometimes-amusing side-effect of her being mistaken for a student. She keeps her hair loose aside from its being held back from her face with a headband, the strands twisted together in a loose, curling tail and draped over one shoulder. Quirks: About: One of the most common torments of adolescence is to be the fifth wheel - the one always alone, on the outskirts, overlooked while everyone else pairs happily off together. A common torment suffered by a very common young girl; quiet and outwardly shy, shrinking-violet Alina believed this injustice to be the worst possible. Her plainness kept her from being visible to the other major adolescent malady - bullies - as well as just about everyone else. Beneath the surface the girl was just as much a raging inferno of emotion as any other, but lacked anyone to share it with. That was when the small, white, catlike creature approached her one afternoon and made a fantastic offer. In the years
since she's dedicated herself to learning what truths lie behind the things
the Incubators say, and to hunting down as many Incubators as she can
find. It doesn't seem to matter to Alina that the little monsters simply
regenerate or reform, and she pursues Witches with the same fervor, believing
herself to be releasing them and their once-loved ones from torment. The general impression of being older than she really is is something Alina uses to her advantage whenever she is taken notice of. For the most part she tends to lurk around the edges of active society in the places Witches would usually appear, observing...and waiting. If confronted or spoken to, she remains polite but won't offer more information about herself than is absolutely necessary. Alina is described by most as being a nice person and comes across as being perfectly normal in just about every way, but... _____________________ ...as a Puella Magi her personality seems to change completely. This is not, in fact, true - Alina 'on duty', as it were, is simply the true Alina. Ruthless, passionate and efficient, she dispatches both Witches and their familiars and minions with equal effectiveness, a predatory smile, and a faint golden glint to her otherwise-soft brown eyes. When it comes to encounters with other or younger Magi, Alina is still polite but far from the friendly-older-sister or motherly type some others seem to be. Instead she comes across as more of a strict - but fair - teacher; willing to assist and instruct when necessary and on occasion donating Grief Seeds to the others as well. Alina nonetheless doesn't tolerate much weakness or cowardice. Perhaps most troubling is the obvious delight she takes in destroying Incubators wherever she finds them. Alina almost never uses magic in these efforts, implying that the Incubators are weak on their own, and simply doesn't listen to whatever protests may come from younger Magi attached to the creatures. Soulgem:
Egg-shaped in its natural form like most others, Alina's soulgem is a
deep red in color. When transformed it becomes a cross-shaped jewel on
her hatband. It seems to carry a perpetual darkness, probably due to her
habit of trying to rely on physical ability rather than magic to defeat
weaker enemies.
