222

Name: Levi
Age: 3 years
Sex: Male
Species: Stitchpunk
Height: 12"
Weight: 4lb
Materials: Leather/Brass

Distinguishing Marks:

·  Unusually tall, and pretty skinny to boot.

·  Optics covered with mirrored glass, which makes them difficult - if not impossible - to see through.

·  A goatee made of braided thread that usually has a few gold beads tied to the end.

·  When out and about, he tends to carry an old doll-sized toy umbrella, which when folded acts as a cane.

Appearance: Levi takes some pride in his appearance – as well he should, since the thin camel-colored glove-leather he’s covered with requires a fair amount of upkeep. Over his skin he wears a sort of loose, knee-length vest made from a tea towel, with large pockets added to both sides. The vest is held shut with a thin gold jewelry-piece; a pair of chains hanging from either end are attached to matching silver coins. The heavy-duty zipper keeping his skin closed is secured with a small brass padlock (his number, 222, is etched into the lock's key).

Quirks:

·  He has a collection of swatches of fabric (all high quality, mostly silk) he likes to wear around his arms like a scarf. The selection varies from day to day, but almost never clashes with the rest of him.

·  Levi doesn't seem capable of any sort of speed. Everything he does is slow and deliberate, and he usually manages to make his motions look grand if not dignified.

·  Due to his faulty construction, he does suffer from a bit of back pain, and will usually sit whenever he isn't required by necessity to stand. He's also literally flat-footed, and shuffles rather than walking normally.

·  His optics, behind their tinted lenses, are completely dilated, which leaves him extra-sensitive to bright light sources.

·  Being quite literate, Levi does take great pleasure in turning any opportunity to read aloud into an oratory production - most others would probably say he just likes to hear himself talk. They might be right.

About:

Lemuel Kohn was a frustrated artist. To be specific, the fifty-year-old bachelor was a frustrated actor. He'd never really had a chance to pursue his lifelong dream of being a stage performer, having gone into business with his father as an apothecary - which he did have an aptitude for, make no mistake. The success of the business did nothing to take the edge off young Lemuel's thirst for stardom. Over the years he did manage to press his younger siblings into service behind the shop counter more and more often, while he himself ventured outside under the pretense of advertising. To be fair, he did advertise...loudly and quite well given his natural vocal talents...which led to his being discovered by the local radio station. Thus began the short career of Leonard Klein, radio announcer.

Where his oldest younger brother had found the time and materials to start dabbling in the ancient art of alchemy, Leonard never did get a chance to find out. By the time the plan to preserve their close-knit family had been revealed and explained, the War was upon them...and through some odd twist of Fate, Leonard...once Lemuel Kohn...was the only one of the family to survive the initial transfer and the turbulent times that followed.

Since then Levi's made it a point to surround himself with the best quality objects he can find (or coerce others into finding for him) among the ruins. Waking and subsequently claiming the drugstore he'd once worked in gave him access to a great many useful things, in fact. One of his prized possessions is an apothecary's cabinet (among the various chests and cubbyholed shelves still standing and usable in the place). Though he doesn't usually venture outside on his own - and if he does, he doesn't tend to go far - Levi doesn't necessarily mind having company. Unfortunately, any company he does get gets bored rather quickly as their host rambles on ...and on...and ON. Levi can make a grand production out of just about anything, and he does this best with his chosen profession...which he shares, along with his home, however apparently unwillingly at times, with the other local alchemist - Saul.

Technically...Levi is an alchemist. His talents run more to the managing of the business end of things and to the mixing and combining and preparing of elements and ingredients, though he's also a fair hand at whatever other aspects might require undivided attention. Regardless, whichever operations he himself undertakes rarely go wrong in horrible ways. Despite his occupation, Levi is in fact squeamish about blood - or rather oil, as the case may be. Gaping wounds usually cause him to make a precipitous retreat from the area, and he won't start or get involved in fights if he can possibly help it, preferring to talk an opponent into a daze and then shuffle for his lanky life.

He's also notably disapproving of whatever vices the stitchpunks happen to cultivate. Most prevalently magnets - which makes Levi something of a hypocrite, as he himself makes use of some weak magnets to ease his back pain. He won't lecture anyone about their habits, though he will most definitely sneer and be condescending. After all, others' weakness is usually his gain.
