Q.
WTF happened?
A. Nothing, really. Having an overwhelming desire to
just simplify my life and feeling a little too connected, I decided to
just locate everything centrally on the website. Less to keep up with,
for one thing.
No one person or place is responsible. I'm just getting older, I guess.
Big plans are afoot for real life in general, and cutting back on time
online is part of it. I will admit, however, that though fifteen years
was a pretty good run for a love affair, the internet has lost a lot of
its fun factor for me.
I'm keeping the Twitter account, which you'll find visible on the front
page, for brainfarts and on-the-fly life updates.
E-mails are awesome, though considering how life's gone full metal jacket
on me lately I may be slow to reply. E-mails written entirely in leetspeak,
horrendous grammar, or piss and vinegar will be ignored. 'LOL' is not
punctuation. You've been warned.
Q.
RM Systemwerx?
A. 'RM' stands for 'Red Menace', the name of the desktop
computer this all comes from. It's a long-standing and very inside joke
involving mecha (and yes, Red does have a Gundam-esque serial designation).
'Systemwerx' just kinda happened. I decided to keep it that way on the
site since I dabble in too many crafts and artistic things to concentrate
on a single one. 'Werx' is nice and general.
Q.
This stuff is free??
A. Yes, it is. I'm considering this a karma-balancer.
Don't question it when the Grinch wants to give something back, eh?
Conversely, don't steal my art. I wouldn't try to take credit
for your hours of work and effort - please don't do that to me. If you
use a template of mine, please link back. Always give credit where it's
due, and you'll find people are much less likely to get annoyed with you.
Plus, that makes it easier to answer when someone asks 'hey, where'd you
get that nifty ___?'
The tutorials are there to help describe to you the inquisitive how I
accomplish some of these things. If you have any questions about them
or certain parts of the processes, feel free to send me an e-mail. As
the proverb says: "If you give a man a fish you feed him for a day.
If you teach a man to fish you feed him for a lifetime."
Q.
Where'd all the shiny fanart go??
A. I decided to concentrate more on original characters,
and drawing more things for myself for a while as well as doing more crafty
things. This includes building up some inventory since I'm working towards
opening a small Etsy shop to bring in some secondary income. Call me selfish,
but...
Q.
You don't draw anymore?
A. Yes, I do. I just came to the conclusion that I have
more fun drawing when I'm not working for someone's dollar. The quality
of work went down the less I enjoyed working on it, and I didn't like
what I was producing. That and it's much more economical to have a day-job.
I also find I tend to go through creative phases. Currently, I'm in a
craft phase, which means I'm having trouble putting pencil on paper and
having anything good come of it. So I'm concentrating on things like papercraft,
sewing and the like for the time being.
Q.
Will you draw something for me?
A. Chances are I won't, unless we're pretty good friends.
I don't take requests, and haven't done commissions in a very long time.
Asking, begging, pestering, and pleading will get you absolutely nowhere.
Q. You drew something for me once, and now I can't find
it. Help!
A. I should have it on file here somewhere. Just drop
me an e-mail, and I'll send you a copy :)
Q.
You drew a character of mine but never colored it. Can I play with the
lineart?
A. Sure! Again, just send me an e-mail. I'd love to see
what you do with my lines, so let me know when you're done!
Q.
The sketch dumps are gone! Nooooo!
A. No they're not - they just moved to their appropriate
places. Most of them centered around specific RP characters. They can
now be found in the characters' entries in the wiki
:)
Q.
Can I use ______ in a fanfic/story/RP?
A. Cameo appearances by any of my characters are fine,
just ask me first. I'd be interested to see what happens!
Q.
I want the font in your image map!
A. It's not available, since it's a direct pixellization
of my actual handwriting.
Q.
I hate your layout and color scheme!
A. Too bad! My webpage, my style :D
Q.
OMG, u r evil.
A. Actually, the alignment is Necessary-Evil. Never adventure
without checking your Monster Manual first.
Q.
I hate YOU.
A. That's nice, dear. You have fun with that. |
