"Goddess Hair": A term I personally use to describe a character's tendency to have hair of variable length and/or weightlessness. So named because I'd noticed in several anime and manga series (most notably Sailormoon and Aa! Megami-sama) that the female characters' hair changes length every so often, and is usually floating or otherwise out of the way.

Anyone who's seen my sketches of Isis/SailorDís knows she has insanely long hair. Mind you, in magical Senshi-land this isn't a problem. I have yet to see Sailormoon trip over her ponytails. In the real world, however, a hairstyle like this would present a number of problems. A few examples are illustrated below.

FIG. 1:

Impressive entrances (i.e. jumping down from an overhanging tree branch) are rendered nigh impossible. In Rolemaster, this would necessitate a 'maneuvering in armor' check.

FIG. 2:

Local wind speed and direction are never constant. Nature is a capricious creature, and isn't usually known to humor mere mortals, champions of justice or not.

FIG. 3:

Have you ever had to work your hair out of a comb or brush it's tangled in? That goes double for weapons or items of power. This is usually a result of FIG. 2.

FIG. 4:

Unintentional pratfalls. Stepping on one's own hair and subsequently tripping over it seriously undermines one's credibility.

FIG. 5:

Besides, who's going to brush all those yards of hair? Without a self-maintaining 'do, or a handy servant around, one is very much up a creek.
FIG. 6:

Oh well, at least such natural follicular glory makes a convenient blanket in wintertime.

What if... Galaxia had gotten ahold of Dís?

Being forced to kill Hades proved to be the last straw, snapping whatever remained of Dís' sanity. That mistake cost Galaxia a powerful ally and instead gained her a dangerous slave.

Benu is not to be trusted - beyond reason, without any compassion, colder and more ruthless than even at her worst before the conversion, she exists in a sort of half-life, chained to the Space Between and her unwilling dual-Guardianship of the World and Spirit Gates. Lest the Spear fall into the wrong hands, or be turned against Galaxia by its wielder, it too is shackled...to Benu herself. The chain seems capable of changing its length as Benu desires, and she frequently makes use of it to attack what she perceives as invaders to her realm.

Trivia: Benu has made a brief appearance as a 'glitch' AI on Angel Fall.

The background information from our Champions sessions is added here simply as story material. The game continued for a while after I moved, but since I wasn't there to play my character(s), neither Heart nor Memory showed up very often. I have heard that one of the other supers in the campaign ran into Memory at Bast's temple (don't laugh, we all ended up owing Bast a favor or two...)

OMAKE! In-game funnies... in which, incidentally, even our GM didn't get the joke about Harutaki's "prey". He'd never been exposed to Oscarfic (and yes, I've read them myself.. un-MSTed...ugh.) Yes, Haru wears little square reading glasses. DT also had a penchant for sending Isis body parts in little boxes; he seemed to think it was sweet, rather like a cat leaving headless rodent corpses in front of the door while you sleep. Isis was evicted from her lodgings at least once because of his offerings.

There was another dark shadow in Dís' footsteps as well, that of the Dark Traveller. In one of her many battles with him, SailorDís was forced through a mysterious mirror in his lair, emerging in the present-day city of Canyon's Edge, in the USA.

Canyon's Edge harbored many strange people, some of whom fought with others for seemingly pointless reasons. SailorDís soon discovered that the Dark Traveller had followed her to this odd city, and determined that she could not leave these people helpless before him, so she took up residence there, obtaining an identity and a job.

She found, in the course of her search for her nemesis, that there were several other beings in the area much like herself. They claimed to be "superheroes" and agreed to join her to fight Dark Traveller, if she would aid them in their fight for justice as well. She took them to the Tokyo Tower of her own continuum in an attempt to draw out Dark Traveller.

True to form, he appeared, but with his own band of senshi, perfect opposites of the existing inner senshi, Princess Serenity's guardians. The ensuing battle with the Dark Senshi was long and disastrous, resulting in the death of one of them, and Dark Traveller escaped.

Isis later encountered a young Japanese girl, a temple miko, who turned out to be the younger form of SailorAres of the Dark Senshi. This form of Ares came from a time before she was warped by life and turned to the forces of evil. Isis discovered that her new mission was to protect this Ares and prevent her corruption...
