Senshi - Civilian

REFERENCE

Senshi Name: Hades
Senshi Title: Spirit Guardian
Senshi Type: Guardian
Realm of Influence: Death

Symbol: IMAGE
Starseed:
Colors: Primary - Cream, Secondary - White, Tertiary - Blue, Gold

Appearance : Hades wears loose-fitting, flared linen pants which are secured at his hips by gold clasps set with lapis lazuli. A cream-colored linen shirt of the same general design leaves his midriff bare, and over it is a simple white high-collared, sleeveless coat which features calf-length tails in the back. Another lapis clasp at his chest holds his black, hooded cloak, which has a white lining. Hades also wears knee-high white boots and a pair of modest gold earrings.

Weapons: The Spirit Blade, a rapier-like sword about five and a half feet long. Its hilt is worked into a stylized likeness of the Tree of Life. When sheathed, the sword in its scabbard looks more like a staff.

Attacks:

“Helm of Hades”: Turns him invisible to ordinary eyes and cloaks his Starseed.
“Amaunet’s Breath”: With his sword, Hades sends three wide arcs of energy at his opponent.
“Call of Duat”: A devastating attack in which the Spirit Gate appears behind an opponent and their Starseed is pulled out. However, this is a ‘taboo’ attack much like Pluto’s ‘Time Stop’, and the penalty for using it is banishment to the Realm of the Living and being stripped of his powers.

Abilities: Hades can project his soul into another in the Realm of the Living and use that person as an anchor in order to keep from having to physically leave the Spirit Gate. He uses this technique for surveillance. He can only have one anchor at a time and the person must have some spiritual resonance with him. Hades also has a keen sense for sniffing out Starseeds (much more refined than Ares’) as well as having the ability to purify them, to some extent, but not completely.

Vulnerabilities: SailorDís. Hades is hopelessly in love with her and would do anything to keep her out of danger. Though Dís is no weakling herself, Hades feels obligated to keep her out of harm’s way. In addition, his Starseed, next to Serenity’s, is one of the brightest, which makes him easy to find when he appears in the Realm of the Living to those who are sensitive to Starseeds.

Senshi History: Cyrus and his twin brother Sadi, originally from the Sigma Librae system, were guardians of the Spirit Gate, a barrier that separated the Realm of the Living from the Realm of the Dead (souls reaching their appointed time of rebirth would be sent to the Galaxy Cauldron to be reborn). At first, they tended the Gate together, taking it in turns going out to the Realm of the Living to seek out and protect lost and newly-deceased souls, escorting them to the Gate and offering solace when needed to those who were confused by their state of being. As Guardians they also prevented misuse of the Gate, kept discontented spirits contained, and generally maintained the balance of souls in the Universe.

Towards the end of what is now called the Silver Millennium, a summons went out to all Senshi, requesting the presence of those who were able at a conference on the Moon, to discuss the encroachment of the so-called "Dark Kingdom". Cyrus was chosen as a representative of Sigma Librae; parties unknown had recently laid siege to the Gate in an attempt to release souls never meant to be reborn as well as a few before their time.

Always less combative than his brother, as well as more comfortable in social situations (a.k.a the more diplomatic of the pair), Cyrus enjoyed his time away, but dallied too long. On the Moon he made the acquaintance of a man by the name of Caspar, royal consort to the Princess of Ceres, as well as the Princess of Charon and future Guardian, Isis. Cyrus and Caspar became good friends, and Cyrus eventually fell in love with Isis. He was with her when her parents died, and as she accepted the title of Queen and the mantle of World Guardian.

Then, he received word of another attack on the Gate. Cyrus arrived there just in time to help turn the tide of the battle, but couldn't prevent the destruction of Sadi's Starseed at the hands of one of Chaos' powerful pawns. Aghast, Cyrus attempted to prevent Sadi's soul from moving beyond the Gate and ended up imprisoned there himself, between life and true death. His brother's soul gave the last of its energy to break him free - the price paid, or so Cyrus believed, being that Sadi would never be reborn, his soul vanished.

Cyrus still blames himself for what happened to his brother, and although he still loves Isis deeply, he remains at his post, determined to atone for his mistakes and listening for even the faintest whisper of his brother's soul.

He and his twin were very close in life and shared a mild form of telepathy. Between the two of them, Cyrus and Sadi were the equivalent of a Sailor Sigma Librae, as that was their system of origin. As Guardians, they didn't bear the Senshi title, though they could and did fulfill the duties of that position when necessary.

Name: Cyrus
Age: 23
Height: 6'0"
Skin: Tanned
Eyes: Green
Hair: Dusty blonde, center-parted and with no particular style to it. Hades' hair usually looks like it's floating, and he tends to keep it tied back into a low ponytail at the nape of his neck. His bangs are the same length as the rest of his hair, hanging to mid-back, and partially obscure the sides of his face, mostly on the left side, with one long tendril usually hanging free at the front.

Dream: To be reunited with SailorDís, and eventually locate his twin brother's missing soul. Cyrus hopes that Sadi will be reborn someday.

Personality: Cyrus has become more distant in his years of self-imposed exile, and has lost some of his youthful, outgoing personality. His social and diplomatic skills are rusty at best, though he's quite proficient at consoling the lost souls, since he subconsciously regards himself as one of their number. He insists on being addressed by title rather than by name, and even thinks of himself simply as Hades most of the time.
