Senshi
Name: Hades |
Appearance : Hades wears loose-fitting, flared linen pants which are secured at his hips by gold clasps set with lapis lazuli. A cream-colored linen shirt of the same general design leaves his midriff bare, and over it is a simple white high-collared, sleeveless coat which features calf-length tails in the back. Another lapis clasp at his chest holds his black, hooded cloak, which has a white lining. Hades also wears knee-high white boots and a pair of modest gold earrings. Weapons: The Spirit Blade, a rapier-like sword about five and a half feet long. Its hilt is worked into a stylized likeness of the Tree of Life. When sheathed, the sword in its scabbard looks more like a staff. Attacks:
Vulnerabilities: SailorDís. Hades is hopelessly in love with her and would do anything to keep her out of danger. Though Dís is no weakling herself, Hades feels obligated to keep her out of harm’s way. In addition, his Starseed, next to Serenity’s, is one of the brightest, which makes him easy to find when he appears in the Realm of the Living to those who are sensitive to Starseeds. Senshi History: Cyrus and his twin brother Sadi, originally from the Sigma Librae system, were guardians of the Spirit Gate, a barrier that separated the Realm of the Living from the Realm of the Dead (souls reaching their appointed time of rebirth would be sent to the Galaxy Cauldron to be reborn). At first, they tended the Gate together, taking it in turns going out to the Realm of the Living to seek out and protect lost and newly-deceased souls, escorting them to the Gate and offering solace when needed to those who were confused by their state of being. As Guardians they also prevented misuse of the Gate, kept discontented spirits contained, and generally maintained the balance of souls in the Universe. Towards the end of what is now called the Silver Millennium, a summons went out to all Senshi, requesting the presence of those who were able at a conference on the Moon, to discuss the encroachment of the so-called "Dark Kingdom". Cyrus was chosen as a representative of Sigma Librae; parties unknown had recently laid siege to the Gate in an attempt to release souls never meant to be reborn as well as a few before their time. Always less combative than his brother, as well as more comfortable in social situations (a.k.a the more diplomatic of the pair), Cyrus enjoyed his time away, but dallied too long. On the Moon he made the acquaintance of a man by the name of Caspar, royal consort to the Princess of Ceres, as well as the Princess of Charon and future Guardian, Isis. Cyrus and Caspar became good friends, and Cyrus eventually fell in love with Isis. He was with her when her parents died, and as she accepted the title of Queen and the mantle of World Guardian. Then, he received word of another attack on the Gate. Cyrus arrived there just in time to help turn the tide of the battle, but couldn't prevent the destruction of Sadi's Starseed at the hands of one of Chaos' powerful pawns. Aghast, Cyrus attempted to prevent Sadi's soul from moving beyond the Gate and ended up imprisoned there himself, between life and true death. His brother's soul gave the last of its energy to break him free - the price paid, or so Cyrus believed, being that Sadi would never be reborn, his soul vanished. Cyrus still blames himself for what happened to his brother, and although he still loves Isis deeply, he remains at his post, determined to atone for his mistakes and listening for even the faintest whisper of his brother's soul. He and his twin were very close in life and shared a mild form of telepathy. Between the two of them, Cyrus and Sadi were the equivalent of a Sailor Sigma Librae, as that was their system of origin. As Guardians, they didn't bear the Senshi title, though they could and did fulfill the duties of that position when necessary. |
