Villain - Civilian

REFERENCE

Title: Dark Traveller
Realm of Influence: Dimensional Travel
Starseed:

Appearance: Dark Traveller seems to prefer antiquated Earth styles, which would be most nearly described as "Victorian". His current favorite ensemble consists of a rather frilly long-sleeved cream-colored linen shirt and cravat topped with a navy-blue suit jacket with long tails, black satin trim, and gold buttons. He also wears snug, high-waisted button-front dress pants which match the suit jacket, black dress shoes with white spats, and white gloves. Other accessories are a short black cape fastened with gold braid and a small pair of gold hoop earrings, and he also wears reading glasses when alone.

Weapons: None

Attacks:

"Dark Gamble": Dark Traveller’s “signature” move, and the one he uses most often simply because he finds it amusing. An exaggerated form of "rock-paper-scissors" with random results. ROCK causes a rain of stones, PAPER binds an opponent, and SCISSORS summons up a flurry of sharp blades.
“Kuk’s Divine Dissolution”: Creates a rope of dark energy that passes through a victim’s body, removing their soul and binding it in a knot, immobilizing them. Dark Traveller then summons a spirit creature resembling a cross between a frog and a crocodile, which rises from the ground beneath his victim, swallowing the knot and the soul and vanishing into the air, leaving the victim an empty shell. This process takes a minute or so to complete, and can be stopped by rendering Dark Traveller unconscious.

Abilities: Dark Traveller has some instinctual knowledge of manipulating the basic elements: metal, fire, water, electricity, air, and earth. He can easily control any elemental attack but he isn’t cognizant enough of this ability to use it offensively.

Vulnerabilities: His sanity. He is currently a man of two minds, which prevents him from being totally effective in a fight. Dark Traveller is easily distracted.

History: After SailorDís’ trial and banishment, Dark Traveller was drawn to the World Gate. Breaking through it, he discovered the simple trading village of Canyon’s Edge. Fascinated by the place, Dark Traveller promptly moved in, and with no one powerful or brave enough to stand up to him, the natives were soon dragooned into assisting him in building the Dark Cathedral, modeling it after the Church of Chaos, which he thought had just the right ambiance. Soon after its completion, Dark Traveller began experimenting with his magical abilities and quickly found he could create portals to other worlds through mirrors. Like a child with a new toy, he jumped from one parallel world to another, meeting new and interesting (and sometimes dangerous) beings. His meanderings have no rhyme or reason based on any nominal logic but his own - For example, bringing Ares to Canyon’s Edge to be the priestess for his Dark Cathedral, only to grow bored waiting for her to recover and wander off to do more portal hopping, leaving her to her own devices.

His innate charm is what drew the reborn Princess of Ceres to him, and they grew close. In fact, Persephone is the only person alive who truly knows Dark Traveller as more than a reputation.

Dark Traveller is obsessed with SailorDís, for reasons he doesn't understand (but admittedly chooses not to dwell on). He is under the impression that if he kills the World Guardian he will claim her power as his own, as well as having access to the Gate she guards. This delusion, while true to a certain point, is what causes Sammael to allow Dark Traveller to remain in the Cathedral, where he lives in a tower containing windows which act as portals to other Worlds.

Name:
Age: 26
Height: 5'10", not fit.
Skin: Caucasian, pale.
Eyes: Muddy red
Hair: Dark red, somewhat curly, and usually worn loose. Dark Traveller's hair is best described as "unruly" and most often appears tousled, though he manages to make it look good. Center-parted bangs frame his face, and the rest of his hair hangs to his shoulder blades when dry.
Distinguishing Features: He has a small gold dot slightly above and between his eyebrows.

Dream: To be able to travel freely wherever, whenever and however he wishes. Dark Traveller hopes to accomplish this by destroying SailorDís and claiming Guardianship of the WorldGate.

Personality: Dark Traveller is... unpredictable, at best. Despite his oft-avowed preference for operating in the background and not being the center of attention whenever things are happening, he tends to be a little flamboyant. Usually insufferably charming, cocky, mischievous and quite the prankster, which tends to aggravate everyone around him eventually, he occasionally descends into a brooding depression and is quite prepared to kill to get what he wants (though he dislikes getting his own hands dirty). He avoids his reflection most of the time, but when his darker moods take him, he has been known to sit for hours seemingly conversing with it. Dark Traveller is aware, in a subconscious sort of way, that people find him attractive physically, and will sometimes play on that, though he very seldom is serious about any advances he makes.

Personal History:

Notes
It may be noted that there are obvious gaps in Dark Traveller's history, including but not limited to his real name. These are details which will be revealed over the course of Sovereign of the Spirit, the now-canon fiction based on and around SailorDís. When the story is finished, those details will be officially placed here.

Dark Traveller is usually referred to as "DT" by his creator and her partner in crime, who tend to view him as a sort of crazy uncle. They have plans to feature him in at least two omake episodes based on Sovereign and the planning discussions behind it.
